A spin-off outgrew the site named after its founder, then replaced it

Justin.tv began in 2007 as co-founder Justin Kan streaming his life, 24 hours a day. Its gaming streams grew fastest, so in 2011 they were spun off as TwitchTV. By 2014 Twitch had outgrown its parent: Justin.tv shut down, and Amazon bought Twitch for $970 million.
