Pranced is in beta: it's free while we test, and it's still improving. A few things to know: name searches can take up to a minute, some newer extensions and niche industries are rougher, and grades are estimates, not advice. Tell us what's off: there's a Feedback link in the header.

The name is a sentence the founders hoped people would say

In 2005 Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian had a site but no name, so they hunted for expired domains with "read" in them. Ohanian came up with Reddit in a university library: it sounds like "read it", spelled as one new word.

The sentence the name was built for:
“I read it on Reddit”
Alexis Ohanian, co-founder

Build the name from the sentence you want people to say.
